Kids Ministry at The Gathering
SPECIAL NOTICE ABOUT SURGE CAMP:
The health and safety of families in our church and surrounding communities is a top priority for
us at The Gathering. With all the uncertainty that COVID-19 has brought, and after much prayer
and discussion, our staff are saddened to announce that SURGE CAMP 2020 has been cancelled.
This was not an easy decision to make but we believe it is the right one. We simply cannot risk
the health of children and their families.
While we know that nothing can replace SURGE CAMP, we hope to offer some exciting and fun
family alternatives this summer (details and dates TBD).
Check in for updates and info about these events at www.thegatheringwindsor.com/surge
Thank you for your understanding and support during these unique times.
NOTE: ALL SUNDAY MORNING MEETINGS HAVE
BEEN CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

These small groups are essential for children to get connected and grow in their understanding of
Jesus and his gospel.
What can you expect at The Kids Gathering?

The Kids Gathering is an opportunity for kids to hear and be changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ and make great friendships. We understand that safety is a top priority for families. It is a top priority in the Kids Gathering as well. We implement several processes to ensure that Sunday morning are as safe as possible:
-All adult workers must obtain a police clearance before they can serve in the Kids Gathering
-All workers must complete an application, complete required training elements, provide references, and be interviewed by a staff member.
-We have designated security volunteers who patrol the Kids Gathering during the service
-All kids are checked in through a secure computer software system and parents/guardians receive a parent label to use in the check out process
-All classes have at least two workers present
-We utilize a paging system to notify parents/guardians of any incident needing their attention
The Gospel Project for Kids
Our Sunday morning teaching times for our Primary classes (Sk -Grade 2 and Grade 3-5), draw from Lifeway's The Gospel Project for Kids Curriculum.
The Gospel Project® for Kids immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project® for Kids, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.

Wednesday Night - AWANA
We encourage our parents with children to consider registering for AWANA at Grace and Truth Chapel here in Windsor. They run a wonderful program and they have opened their doors to us with a warm invitation to participate in their well-organized program. For more information, check out
Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. The AWANA programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community. As a ministry leader for over 60 years, Awana is making an impact. A national survey found Awana to be as important to their alumni’s spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in AWANA programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults! Each week, more than two million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana. This includes more than 1.1 million in 102 countries outside of the U.S., the most children that Awana has ever reached internationally.
