Why Life Groups?

In other churches you may have been a part of a Home Group, Small Group, Community Group, Bible Study, or Prayer Fellowship. These are all great ministries with specific priorities. Here at The Gathering, we love the ministry name of Life Group. We believe Life Group better conveys the idea that this is a group for real connections, deep conversations, and devoted community (more on this later) as brothers and sisters in Christ link arms to do life together.

Life Groups are the primary vehicle for redemptive life here at The Gathering, built upon our 4 Core Values of Authentic Worship, Devoted Community, Strategic Equipping, & Bold Witness.
 

• Like a Home Group, you will be warmly welcomed in & included as a part of the family.

• Like a Small Group, you will be one of few, not one of many, allowing genuine relationships to form.

• Like a Community Group, you will gather together outside of Sunday mornings for fellowship with one another.

• Like a Bible Study, you will dive into practical discussions immersed in the truths of God's Word.

• Like a Prayer Fellowship, you will spend time in prayer with and for one another.

What to Expect?

Each Life Group will reflect the uniqueness of the people within it, led by dedicated Leaders, who are Partners of The Gathering, with a humble passion to teach and serve others. A typical group will gather once a week for approximately 90 minutes. Spouses are encouraged to join a Life Group together, as they are able.

Many Life Groups will meet in homes throughout the Windsor-Essex region, while some will meet centrally at The Gathering Church. Studies will be selected by the Leaders from a list of Elder-approved curriculum options.

Who Can Join a Life Group?

As we believe Life Groups to truly be the greatest platform for establishing Devoted Community at The Gathering Church, all Partners are expected to participate in a Life Group as they are able. However, this does not mean you have to be a Partner to join! All regular attendees of The Gathering Church are encouraged to find a Life Group! "What if I'm new here?" We love that! And we extend a warm invitation to join a Life Group as well.
